OVERMIND

At a technical level, these are the principles and concepts of social interaction between players, developed specifically for UNREAL RACING, allowing the introduction of complex, non-linear events, meta-goals and meta-games inside UNREAL RACING, thus developing the universe into an almost limitless game world with a variety of game mechanics. OVERMIND at its core is primarily a set of concepts that encourage players to interact with each other (games within a game).

At the level of the game universe, there are many different events that affect the course of the game globally. Each player can influence the outcome of these events, but only by acting only together and as a community. For example, one of the most important game events is the countdown timer, which, according to the Lore, shows how much time is left before the collision with the asteroid (16)Psyche, and all players will have to stop it. If they fail, the game will be over, for everyone and forever. By the way, only 4.5 years are left before the collision, according to the game timer.

To Stop OVERMIND

According to the Lore of the game universe, OVERMIND – aka the oracle – an AI is so powerful that it has essentially reached the limit of technocracy, the global confrontation of which is the ultimate and main goal of all players. OVERMIND greatly complicates the life of the players, being, in fact, a negative meta-entity that has the right to vote in the governing council of corporations and citadels that own the world of 2035. All participants of the game will have to join the war with this 'essence'.

Using the example of the (16)Psyche event, it is obvious that such game mechanics encourage new players to take their time and try out to plunge into the world of UNREAL RACING without being late to the story, since there is a possibility of a complete shutdown, a complete stop of the game if the players lose this fight for survival. As well as such mechanics motivate each player to expand the community by inviting their friends to participate in metagames, and ultimately defeat OVERMIND.

The non-linear plot and players influencing the course of events allow either evolution or the complete destruction of OVERMIND as a game entity.
